5/24/2017 0 Comments Citrusy Tea PartyTwo months to go before baby is due! I was craving all kinds of citrus fruit, so I thought it'd be fun to make it this month's tea party theme! All our guests were so sweet and even tried to bring food to match. I made some veggie tea sandwiches with a squeeze of lemon in the spread. I happened upon some orange ginger tea cookies in the grocery store which were a hit with the ladies for dunking in our tea. My favorite party touch was sewing together some brand new cloth napkins in a sunny pattern by Nate Berkus to brighten the table and give guests that special fancy feel while dining. I love that the napkins can be used at our home for many more special and everyday occasions to come! The place cards were some scrapbook paper we've had forever cut into circles and folded in half to stand up and look like cut lemon, lime, and orange segments. It was a deliciously good time!

5/23/2017 0 Comments Let Them SleepI've noticed that my boy loves to play his little heart out until he's absolutely spent. It ends up with photos like these! He will fall asleep in mid-chew, mid-car-chase, and mid-jump. We've resorted to earlier nap times, but I sure will miss these sweet moments never knowing where I might find this cutie pie snoring!
5/19/2017 0 Comments California Cool BarstoolsI am pretty much in love with these new barstools in my front room. They bring a nice California-cool vibe I miss. I like the back that mimics my favorite wishbone chairs, and the woven seats that will provide a nice natural texture once we paint all our cabinets white and replace the counters with a nice light granite or quartz.
I have been stalking these chairs on a classifieds site for months. I had other priorities, so I couldn't pay her what she was asking for. Finally she went to a place in my budget and I decided to scoop these up! They brighten the place and I smile every time I look at them from the hall. 5/8/2017 0 Comments Tea Party for No ReasonMy dear friend and I were watching a British baking competition show at her home, and the episode was all about creating fanciful foods usually eaten at tea time. We looked at each other and very giddily decided we should have our own tea party where we can try to make something like that! I wanted to feel like we were Moms out at a fancy restaurant for afternoon tea rather than at home with the kids. I kind of went Mother's Day floral with the decor. I bought colorful fresh flowers, arranged them in vases, moved the kitchen table to the carpeted living room where guests at every angle could share our third floor view of the mountains, and felt super adult when I bought a real white tablecloth and ironed it a few times. I thought Fancy Nancy would be all over it!
