10/27/2018 0 Comments Girl RoomMy daughter and I talked about “her room” and what she imagined during one of our mother-daughter dates, We made a whole list, and I tried to implement as many of those ideas as I could in the space that we have. I wanted her to be able to be herself here, free from worry that her brothers would touch things or make messes.

10/16/2018 1 Comment A New Series: Why I BelieveMost of the things I’ve shared on the blog are on the surface, a small window into our life from a narrow look at who we are. I haven’t really wanted the complications that come with widening that look or sharing more. There's a level of editing that goes on because words are powerful and cannot be unsaid; their aftermath can't be taken back once the words have been unleashed on the world or your loved ones. People can be quick to judge and slow to listen (myself included), and I prefer us getting to know each other over a snack and a visit to warm up before delving deeper.
10/9/2018 0 Comments Colorful Little Kid Room for ThreeIt’s been a while since I’ve had a decorating update! Although the other day at playgroup, my friend was laughing at me because she said that every single time she’s been to my house I’ve always rearranged everything. Yep, it’s probably true! The latest change has been a long time coming and is brought to you by my daughter, who has been really excited about having her own space (will have an update on that once she's officially moved in). On one of our mommy-daughter dates, we sat down and talked over lunch of what she imagined her room would be like and then wrote them down. I found the list we made prominently pinned in a place of honor among her favorite drawings, and knew I had to slowly but surely start.
10/8/2018 0 Comments Family Photos 2018This is the first year we've done a family photo swap with our dear friends. My husband helped greatly by bathing the kids, picking out his own clothing, calming my stress about wanting to do a good job taking our friends' photos... I had no idea how to use her camera, and have resolved to work on my skills to be more prepared next year. I photographed their session first, so by the time it was our turn my husband and kiddos were ready for dinner and bedtime. It’s fortunate Victoria got any photos of them smiling. She did a great job with our wiggly bunch, check it out!
