12/30/2019 0 Comments A Grinchy Christmas GatheringOur friends are so awesome! They love Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch and have all sorts of fun things Grinch Christmas themed which they use for a Christmas party! A blow-up Grinch greeted us at the door, and my favorite detail was the Grinch themed fresh floral centerpiece on the table. There were headbands/hats for everyone to get in the spirit, ornaments hanging from the ceiling, colorful real linens and silverware, all sorts of delicious food for the “feast”... Wow. The kids loved when we played Bingo after dinner and watched the original Grinch cartoon.

11/18/2019 0 Comments Batman Potty Party! We’ve had a potty for 2 years hoping our now 4-year-old son would just use it one day when he was ready, but he was showing signs of readiness so I needed to learn how to teach him. I borrowed a Potty Kit for Boys from the library with books that came with a baby doll, mini potty, bottle, and the book “Potty Train Your Child in Just One Day: Proven Secrets of the Potty Pro” by Teri Crane. I got 3 other potty training books and prayed for success since I really did only have one full day to to dedicate entirely to potty train. A ton of effort but... It worked for us!
11/8/2019 0 Comments Mama RetreatMy sister is pregnant with her second child, and super excited to be having a girl! She recently earned her degree after many hours of online study and a busy internship, and completed a stressful move with packing, cleaning, and moving everything only a week before we took this photo. As far as she knew there wouldn’t be a baby shower, though it sounded like she really wanted one. After some sister-to-sister talks, we realized she had most of the things she needed—she was just burned out. In lieu of a baby shower, my other little sister and I did a Mama Retreat for her at my place! We took care of transportation, food, and activities so my sister didn’t have to worry about anything except enjoying herself. Her husband even got on board to help watch their kiddo so she could get away!
My sister in law is having her first boy! Her nursery is neutral colors with wooden accents, and features a car play mat which inspired the theme for her baby shower. Many of our close sisters and sisters-in-law just recently moved to the other side of the country so I also put together packages with the invitation so they could join the celebration over FaceTime. My favorite moments were from the fun “Words of Advice” activity as all these seasoned moms and sweet women shared their experiences with raising boys. My mother in law also made an incredible white bean minestrone soup which I still want the recipe for! Her home is gorgeous and the perfect backdrop for a gathering, she did a wonderful job hosting! Photos below...
This kiddo turned 8 years old! She is gorgeous inside and out, thoughtful beyond her years, a caring friend to have adventures with, and loves God with all her heart. She decided to be baptized, which happened to be the day after her actual birthday so we had an all-day event including her baptism, luncheon, and a water activity!
I'm busy planning a birthday and baptism! My little girl inspired this tropical design that I love. The geometric shapes feel more modern and trendy! The birthday girl was ecstatic at how they turned out, and helped me send them out to family and friends. Everything about it feels like her... sweet, elegant, artsy, all her favorite colors, happy vibes, and Hawaii. After traveling there for the first time, I know she would have loved the weather, water activities, animals and plants, food, people, music—everything! We already had a Luau Moana party for her birthday a couple of years ago, but this year would be a bit more grown up. She is, after all, almost 8 years old! It's a special year because she decided to make some wonderful promises and be baptized a member of our church. In the scriptures it's described as "entering the waters of baptism"—a perfect match for her summer birthday. We took photos at the park in her special white dress that she will wear afterwards, and I can't get over how beautiful she is inside and out. My baby is growing up too fast! I made this design pretty enough to work for any special event! See it at the shop here.
7/12/2019 0 Comments Birthday Boys in CaliforniaMay 30. We would be out of town during our boys’ birthdays so we celebrated a few days prior at my parents’ house with my family! It was special since we don’t see my family that often, plus the kids were stoked about road tripping to California. It was also my younger brother’s actual birthday AND Memorial Day—a quadruple whammy! My boys (turning 2 and 4) had plenty of cupcakes, action figures, toys big and small, and lots of love from Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunts and Uncles. Not bad for celebrating at home away from home!
5/19/2019 0 Comments Superhero Avengers Birthday PartyOur little nephew just turned 4 and loves all things superheroes, so my sister-in-law Ashlyne planned an Avengers themed birthday party! Jer and I recently watched Avengers: Endgame and it was the BEST!!! I had so much fun making signs for the AWESOME games, and a special green drink. The kids had a blast- see photos below!
We try so hard to create fun memories for celebrations, and sometimes despite our best efforts all we have to show for it is photos like this! This post is dedicated to taking the meltdowns with the giggles, the disasters with the dessert—and letting them cry on their birthday. Welcome to the Terrible Twos! Maybe there’s a lot going on, and you’ve got to think fast on how to solve issues that come up, and avoid the overstimulation. Maybe I’ll have the energy to put in some lessons learned.
We look forward to the St. Patrick’s Day Party all year long! It all started with our BFF’s sharing a pot of corned beef and cabbage with us in our little apartments, and Jeremy making his famous mashed potatoes to go with it. Back then we maybe had one kid each, and since we lived just a couple of doors down from each other we could walk back and forth between our kitchens and living rooms. This celebration of family, friends, and delicious Irish food kind of grew and took on a life of its own!
2/24/2019 0 Comments Magical Unicorn 6th Birthday PartyA sprinkle of rainbows, handmade everything, and a magical unicorn land party for our little niece’s 6th birthday!
I’m so excited to share some updates of my designs with you! These adorable Princess Fairytale Storybook invitations came from a custom request of a lady who loved my fairytale cupcake toppers.
11/30/2018 0 Comments Greenery Baby ShowerI have some amazing sisters in law who are just so sweet and creative. We all love Ashlyne so much, who has 3 boys already, so when she announced that they were pregnant and it was a GIRL we all got crazy excited! Her Pinterest board was full of stylish greenery for the baby room, so that’s what the shower theme was. My sister in law Alyssa hosted at her beautiful home, and Ashley did an amazing job helping with decorations and food. Ashlyne’s sisters in law Paige and Ashlee also did lots of decorations, games, food, and a gorgeous funfetti cake with succulent decorations. Her BFF Meg also helped out a ton with partyware and thank you notes. I was so happy they let me do some printed stuff including the invitations. It all came together so nicely!
9/15/2018 1 Comment Mermaid Birthday PartyGrowing up, my favorite character was Ariel the Little Mermaid, so the child in me was jumping up and down at everything at my niece’s Mermaid themed birthday party. It took months of preparation since all the food and gorgeous details were handmade with love by her Mom (Ashley), but seriously a picture is worth a thousand words here. We were transported to an underwater world of balloon bubbles, jellyfish lanterns, hanging seaweed, and a giant clam shell shaped floatie to celebrate an amazing little Mermaid turning 3! My sister in law Ashley is so extra and I wanted to just hug her guts out knowing how much work she did and how magical it turned out.
My amazing sister in law Ashley put together all the details for this adorable first birthday party for her twins! She could be a professional party planner because everything was spot on. The twins’ room is an outdoor adventure theme, and their first Christmas tree had a bunch of flannel ornaments so it was a fun transition to make their first birthday Lumberjack themed in red and black. All the guests came in plaid to celebrate.
