My amazing sister in law Ashley put together all the details for this adorable first birthday party for her twins! She could be a professional party planner because everything was spot on. The twins’ room is an outdoor adventure theme, and their first Christmas tree had a bunch of flannel ornaments so it was a fun transition to make their first birthday Lumberjack themed in red and black. All the guests came in plaid to celebrate. First birthday parties are kind of tricky since one year olds can be overstimulated quickly, and the prime party time is probably an hour or two at most. We have a large family with lots of little kids around the same age, so the activities were the kids playing with each other and Ashley concentrated on creating an atmosphere of fun with the theme. She made all the baked goods the day before, and got some help prepping all the decorations and food in the morning. It’s amazing to watch a Mom of twins that has a routine, keeping all the little ones happy while making all the parts of an event run smoothly. It’s a balancing act, and she does it with skill and grace. Check out the CUTE details of the party below! Party Highlights to look for:
First, the cakes! Ashley made these matching chocolate personal cakes for each of her boys to enjoy using apple sauce. The chocolate decorations and little cutout trees add dimension and color. Aren’t they adorable? Ashley customized their onesies using iron-on transfers of a black bear and a red/black plaid number one. Any toys, blankets, or decorations they already had were incorporated! I love when people use stuff on hand for celebrations and don’t have to go buy extra things that will just be one time use. Ashley found some red and black plaid wrapping paper that served as a great backdrop for the party table, table runners, and even a pendant banner. Kids and adults alike inhaled those fruit cups. Guests took home Party Favor cups filled with ingredients for s’mores! Even the high chairs are festively decorated! Baby loved the cake! It was a wonderful time had by all.
