2/24/2019 0 Comments Magical Unicorn 6th Birthday PartyA sprinkle of rainbows, handmade everything, and a magical unicorn land party for our little niece’s 6th birthday! Let’s take a moment to admire the fact that every single decoration was handmade by my crafty sister in law. She made multicolored tissue paper tassels, individually cut raindrops from iridescent table cloth and strung them up from paper or balloon clouds, and used paper strips to make rainbows along every wall/surface. Her husband also helped with all the balloon clouds! My sister in law made these adorable hand-decorated favor bags in unicorn or dragon designs that contained a gift for each child attending the party. I love the softer rainbow color palette she used for all her party decor and place settings! The party food was also lovingly prepared and super kid-friendly. I’m sure this 6-layered rainbow jello was not easy (I definitely would have messed it up!), but my brother-in-law is awesome and also made homemade corn dogs using Hebrew national. There is no photo of these delicious beauties because they were scarfed down almost instantly! There were 2 flavors of cupcake, and all were decorated in this gorgeous rainbow swirl. The birthday girl’s cupcake that she blew her candle out on had a unicorn horn. This is my kid beaming from her unicorn gear that came in her favor bag. My sister in law very lovingly made these, and each one is unique for each guest- what a labor of love seriously, I bet they took a while to make for this many kiddos! The boys got a unique felt dragon mask to take home—the boys loved their Toothless Dragon masks, and my boys each had a blue and red dragon mask to play with at home. She does an amazing quality job on them, too, because even after over a year of solid play our masks from last year’s birthday party are still holding up. The big activity the kids did was a little toilet paper roll craft dragon or unicorn they took home. There was lots of supervised glueing, the materials were already measured and cut so it was fun for the kids to just assemble their creatures and it was easy clean up. Such a pretty way to decorate the fireplace mantle where they put the gifts. Look at her bright smile as we sang to her! Happy Birthday to this sweet girl!! Thank you for inviting us to celebrate 6 magical years.
