5/19/2019 0 Comments Superhero Avengers Birthday PartyOur little nephew just turned 4 and loves all things superheroes, so my sister-in-law Ashlyne planned an Avengers themed birthday party! Jer and I recently watched Avengers: Endgame and it was the BEST!!! I had so much fun making signs for the AWESOME games, and a special green drink. The kids had a blast- see photos below! Carnival Style Superhero GamesThis party was all about the activities! They were super fun and clever homemade games aimed at the kids (but accompanying adults enjoyed it, too!), with candy earned as prizes for completing the games. There were even color-coded balloons to match each theme, mostly to do with each superhero they represented. It took almost an hour to set up even with very helpful teenage assistant cousins, many of whom stayed on to supervise the games. Infinity Stone Search: This was the game everyone wanted to start with! The kids went one at a time into a dark room with an Iron Man Style flashlight affixed to their hand, and searched in the dark for the 6 colored infinity stones. Depending on how many they found, they earned candy! They could go through this activity several times because the stones were hidden in different places after a few rounds to make it more difficult. Balloon Hulk Smash: We blew a bunch of green balloons and rallied them on the stage, but that didn’t keep the kids from playing with them before the game. The kids could pop the balloons by either sitting on them or using the provided Hulk fists to “Hulk Smash” them! Here my kid is trying to Hulk Smash a balloon with assistance from Dad. Captain America Shield Throw: Can’t believe I didn’t get a pic of someone actually playing this game! However, you can see the fabulous frisbee Alyssa made by spray painting it red and adding some colored paper details to make it look like Captain America’s Shield. Kids earned points and candy if they could land the frisbee in the hula hoop. Spidey Senses Obstacle: A very popular game even while we were setting up still! My brother in law Jace drew and tagged a giant box, and then threaded string throughout to form a web. The kids had to try to crawl through the box without touching any of the web! Everyone who tried got a candy, but if you didn’t touch the web you got two candies. Success at making it through the obstacle course for my little Iron Man! They went immediately back through it several times to see how well they could do, even my tiny baby Spider-Man! Hawkeye’s Range: Using a toy bow and arrow, kids earned candy based on which targets they were able to hit. Here’s my adorable Batgirl showing me how to position the arrow- she moved way back to hit the targets. Pin the Hammer on Thor: A blindfolded, spun-around participant would try to find the right spot for Thor’s hammer! Jace also drew this adorable poster with a classic Thor, and I love that it’s the perfect size and position for even tiny kids like mine. My kid didn’t want to be blindfolded or to close his eyes, so this was him cheating with Aunt Ashlyne’s help, haha. One candy for trying, two candies for putting the hammer in the right spot! Superhero DetailsTheir talented cousin Sammy just graduated from cosmetology! She did a lovely job face painting masks onto the kids, everything from Spider-Gwen to the Hulk. Aunt Paige also made a super surprise piñata cake for the birthday boy, which had a stash of colored candy inside when he cut it open. He was thrilled!
